'Daasa Daasara...

'Daasa Daasara Maneya Dasanu Daasa Naanu....', wrote Kanaka Daasaru about 400 years ago. It's one of my favorite songs. The song describes the humility of a great soul like Kanaka Daasaru.

It also gives the message of the importance of humility for a person who seeks God.

Vijayadaasaru advised his son, 'Haridaasa daasara paada dhoolagi iru'. (Bow at the feet of Hari Daasas).

Purandaradaasaru has said 'Guruvina gulama anaguva tanaka, doreyadanna Mukuti'. (Become a slave to your Guru, if you aspire salvation).
